Simultaneous central and peripheral role on Lower-end Bluetooth 5.2 SoCs (nrf52810 / nrf52811)

Hello,

 

   I am looking for the cost effective simultaneous central+peripheral solution using nrf BLE.

The nrf52810 seems to be hardware capable of doing this but I am not sure about the sdk as it is showing the s132 will support all these but s132 is either not recommended for this or kind of not supported in latest SDK I think, probably due to memory limitations.

Basically I want to connect mobile phone (central) to one nrf BLE device and the same nrf BLE device(as a central) should connect to another peripheral nrf device simultaneously. So this device should be able to do both peripheral and central simultaneously. 

This should be possible on nrf52832 with s132 but will it be possible on nrf552810 / nrf52811 ?

Hello,

We have qualified s132 v5.1.0 for the nRF52810. So it should be possible with this older version of the Softdevice to achieve concurrent support for both the GAP central and GAP peripheral role. Another option is to use nRF52811 with the larger s140 v7 Softdevice. It adds some extra features such as support for CODED_PHY but also leaves less memory to your application code.
