External Power Supply to nrf52840 Dongle

Hello community,

I have programmed my dongle as beacon. Now I want to stick them to the wall for experiment purposes. How is it possible to power them up via external battery or something instead of usb-power? I have seen that in documentation that we need to cut and solder but I am not sure how to do that?

I would be very thankful if someone experienced can give give starting steps or guide to reproduce by myself

Can i ask what battery would you suggest to use? and what else would i require? For example resistors etc?

Depend on your requirement. Please the discussion in this post. Just make sure to follow the detail in the External regulated source documentation.  

Would you consider nRF52840 DK which has multiple power options including Coin cell battery and Lithium polymer (Li-Po) battery? See Power supply.
