PPK showing 80 mA on DK

Hi!

I've been having some issues with the ppk recently. I've been trying to measure the current on our custom board but it was showing way too much so I tried on the DK. This is what I'm getting:

The higher baseline is just as soon as the ppk measurement starts and then goes away and consistently stays as it is on the right side of the image. I've tried switching out the DK and the PPK and nothing helped. Wondering if you know what the issue could be? I'm not 100% sure if it started after, but I recently upgraded the nrf connect firmware (don't remember exactly from which version but probably 3.3.X).

Were you supposed to upload an image to this ticket? If so, please try again as I don't think it was uploaded. Either way, here are a few suggestions: Make sure that the switches on the PPK are in the correct positions. When measuring on a DK, the correct setup should be the following

    • Power select: DK
    • DUT select: DK
    • COM: DK

Please also verify that you have cut the solder bridge on your DK. SB9 for nRF52832 DKs. SB40 for nRF52840, nRF52833, and nRF5340 DKs. If you think the nRFConnect update might be the issue, you can try downgrading to an older version of the Power Profiler app like this:

    • Download and install nRFConnect.
    • Uninstall the current nRFConnect programmer version by clicking the dropdown tab and uninstall.
    • Close nRFConnect
    • Download and place the .tgz file in C:\Users\<username>\.nrfconnect-apps\local\.
    • Open nRFConnect and run the app. You should now be using the version you placed in the \local\ folder.

    Best regards,

    Simon
