SIG qualification

Hi,

I have a question concerning the SIG qualification. We use the ublox BMD-350 (nrf52832) that is qualified as a component (QDID 101018). I don't really understand the qualification requirements but apparently we cant use that QDID for qualification without testing. Is it possible to just use the corresponding Nordic QDID (91725, end product)? I find it quite confusing, that the nrf52832 can be an end product and the BMD-350 based on the nrf52832 can be a component...

you use a module, this has already done the BLE SIG certification: datasheet, QDID 101018

You still need to do listing of the end product at BLE SIG, but you can use the "No required testing", and reference our QDID and/or the module vendors QDID. 

QDID's for nRF52832

Since this is a module, and they have already done the RF-PHY test you don't need to do an RF-PHY retesting. 

If you would have done the design around the nRF52832 your self, you would also reference our QDID's, but then also do an RF-PHY retest, to make sure that you are compliant with requirements for RF-PHY, for you costume design.

As Philip mentioned we cannot use the module BMD-3XX since its a "component":

"QDID 101625 was qualified as a Component. Components are intended to be incorporated into a Subsystem or End Product through the Qualification Process with Required Testing."

So can we just add the "138862 | End Product | nRF52 Series with S132 v7.0.1 q-c" and do the "no required testing" qualification with this QDID only?

Yes, you can reference our end device QDID's for nRF52832, which includes the RF-PHY part, since the module vendor has verified that the module is within the specifications for RF-PHY.
