Issue updating the firmware on a new Thingy:91 to the latest version

I am trying to update the firmware on the Thingy:91 following the instructions here: https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fug_nc_programmer%2FUG%2Fnrf_connect_programmer%2Fncp_updating_modem_thingy91_mcuboot.html&cp=8_3_1_6_1_0

I get all the way to the "Write" in the last step before I'm thrown an error. The output of the log from nRF Connect v3.4.1 - Programmer is:

I am running this on Linux Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS. I have installed the newest version of the command line tools and the output and version are below.

$ nrfjprog -v
nrfjprog version: 10.9.0
JLinkARM.dll version: 6.80a

Can you try to update the modem using an external debugger instead?
