Set the network to connect with

Hello, 

I am using the nrf9160 DK and connected it with a SIM card of a local provider.

The SIM card is able to connect to the LTE network and NB-IoT. 

For researches I only want to use the NB-IoT connection. Is there any function to set which network should be used?
Or can I see anywhere which is being used?

Hi, how are you connecting to the network?

If you are using LTE Link Control, try to add CONFIG_LTE_NETWORK_MODE_NBIOT=y to your project config file, or CONFIG_LTE_NETWORK_MODE_NBIOT_GPS=y if you are also using GPS.

If you are using AT commands you can use the command "AT%XSYSTEMMODE=0,1,0,0" for just NB-IoT, or "AT%XSYSTEMMODE=0,1,1,0" to also enable GPS. Described here in the documentation.

So I used the AT command in the LTE Link Monitor.

With 'AT%XSYSTEMMODE=0,1,0,0' I can only connect to an NB-IoT network and not LTE anymore right?

Yes, if you are using AT commands, that should be the case.

If your application uses LTE Link Control you would have to also add CONFIG_LTE_NETWORK_USE_FALLBACK=n to your project config file.

where can I see if LTE link control is being used?

The easiest way is to check if your project config file contains CONFIG_LTE_LINK_CONTROL=y.
