Hello nRF52840-DK with SDK version 16.0.0 connecting to an android device Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920v, Android 7.0, API 24) getting a 133 GATT error.

We are using the nRF52840-DK with SDK version 16.0.0 connecting to an android device Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920v, Android 7.0, API 24). I captured the HCI_Snoop.Log (viewable in wireshark). It tries to connect 3 times getting a 133 GATT error. Then the GATT just hangs.

Hi Omid,

This is a known issue with old mobile Oses that operate outside the BLE spec. 

Please search this forum for "GATT error 133" and you will find many threads and discussions. One for example is here

I did see some discussions about this but in every case an older version of the SDK was being used with an older softdevice.  We are using sdk version 16.0.0 and the s140 which from somethings I read should include a workaround for the compatibility mode issue. Were you able to analyze our log file.  On the same phone we have the nrfConnect app and it is able to connect without issue but our custom app is having trouble with the latest Android stack.  Are you aware of any such issues in the past. Does Nordic recommend a certain version of Android or API? Any and all help is appreciated.   

BTW I work for NikolaMotor and this Nordic ble solution is the one we have chosen for our  products and therefore It is extremely crucial that we work out this issue.  Thanks

 Interesting. I see that the logs you pasted here are not readable format. Can you please fix the logs or better attach the file instead of including them embedded.

Yes, I see. I actually did attach it but showed up as if I pasted the contents. I do see that you can download the file that I attached from the link on the right side and it can then be viewed with wireshark.

There's a problem with the character set of the log, we can't read your log file. Can you translate into the standard english character set?

This log needs to be opened in wireshark.

Oh, now I get it. Well this HCI log does not really tell us that much we need the on-air sniffer trace as well. 

From the HCI log it seems like the host cancels the create connection command after 5 seconds without a reply from the controller, other that the initial 'pending' status.
