Raspbian Image for IoT

Hi,

I tried installing the kernel (raspbian-kernel-zip Raspbian kernel for Raspberry Pi 3.17.4 ) on a Raspberry Pi 2 (Model B 1 GB). I found out that the Pi doesn't boot after making changes to the config.txt by adding

kernel=vmlinuz-3.17.4-release+

Does any one know if the kernel is supported for Pi2? If there is a support coming soon. If not which Pi variants are supported?

Hi,

The RPi and RPi2 kernels are not compatible with each other, unfortunately. We do not have any precompiled images for RPi2, but I wrote a blog post about how you can build your own: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

So If I understand correctly then the kernel is only supported for RPi Model B. Is the Model B+ also supported?

If you follow the guide, it will build a kernel that's for the Raspberry Pi 2 (4 x 900 MHz and 1 GB RAM). To compile for the "older" raspberry pi 1, you should change the "make bcm2709_defconf" to "make bcmrpi_defconfig" instead.
