Debug the code in Nordic thingy 52 board

Hi,
I am using a thingy 52 board. I have Arm jlink programmer to load the program. And I have loaded the program successfully. But I want to debug the code.
So, How can I debug the code? Can I use direct UART(Tx,Rx,Gnd) connection with thingy 52 board? I don't have an nrf52 development kit. Is it required kit for debugging the code?

I would suggest to use RTT to printout log instead of UART. You can use the same SWD interface to print log via RTT. 

The nRF52 chip on the Thingy already most of the pins for other communication, so it would be hard to find pins for UART.
