Can I use NRF connect to set up the NRF51 DK?

I used the NFR connect tool to install softdevice on the NRF52840 Dongle. I see noise about another tool to set up this kit in this forum; these are old. I forget what it is called, something like nRFgo studio. I also see a blog about setting up the NRF51 DK, again using this other tool and again more than 5 years old. I downloaded the user guide but critical documentation links no longer work.

I would like a link that works to documentation for setting up the NRF51 DK. I already have a Keil project from another company which I need to run on this DK. SO far  I have only gotten to the point of connecting the device to my computer and getting LED5 to light up and the USB device recognized.

Now I need to get Softdevice S110 loaded onto the board, and then I assume I can flash the hex file from the Keil project. Info greatly  appreciated!

The S110 softdevice only runs on NRF51xxx chips and not on the NRF52840 dongle.

Porting NRF51 projects onto the newer NRF52 SDKs will require some non-trivial changes.

Yes, you can. 

You can also use nrfjprog directly from the command line: Programming nRF5x SoCs with nrfjprog.

I'll do anything to avoid the cryptics of the command line.

Are there any instructions on how to use NRFConnect to install the S110 softdevice onto the NRF51 DK? I recalll having some for the NRF52840 dongle.

Links in the downloadable user guide and documentation give 404s and thus are clearly broken so they are of no help.

You need to use the programmer app, it's pretty straight-forward.
