Capacitor/Inductor PCB Packages, nRF51822 QFAA

Question

Hi there, 
 It states in the bill of materials for the QFAA RF PCB design of the nRF51822 that the 0402 model capactior is to be used. After using this capacitor package and after using the pick and place X and Y postions for all the components it is clear that this particular capacitor package is too big, they overlap. Can somebody point me in the direction of the correct package to use? The next smallest available package in the EAGLE library is the 0201 but this is extremely small. 
 CAPC1005X04L is stated in the pick and place text document, is that suppose to be the package to use? I cannot seem to find this package anywhere.

Unfortunately, there is no "standard" footprint for these types of components. If you google recommended footprints, you will get several different answers. The reason you are getting overlapping components when using the resistor library in Eagle is because they are larger than those used in the Nordic-designs. Possibly, the footprints in the design is minimized to reduce cost of solder-paste.
Eagle seems to use the IPC standard found here , while the reference-design of the Nordic boards seem to follow these guidelines . 
 I had the same problem as you, and what I ended up doing was to modify the 0402 package in the Eagle library so it more or less matched the footprint of the reference design. You could also try this library , where the 0402 (1005 metric) footprint is a bit smaller than in the standard library. Normally this is up to you, as it depends on how large footprints you wish, depending on wether you solder by hand or reflow. However, when it comes to the antenna circuit I think I would try to make it as similar to the reference design as possible. 
 CAPC1005X04L is the name of the footprint in the Nordic library for Altium, and simply says it's a 1005 metric footprint (not sure why they switch between metric and imperial units, this can be confusing)
