Thingy52 Color characteristic 0205

Hi,

My issue is simple as i'm new as developer with API thingy devices and i have this issue that i can't solve with online support.

I'm trying to understand the "Color characteristic" 0205 result list in the json schema to convert for proper RGB or HEX format. Could you support me with this transformation? If you have any python example is perfect.

Hi.

Could you tell me where the data in the image come from?

You can find the definition of the color characteristic here: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/Nordic-Thingy52-FW/blob/master/include/ble_services/ble_tes.h#L92

As you can see, it consists of 4 16-bit unsigned values: red, green, blue, and clear.

As for how to convert that to "normal" RGB, I might be able to dig something up next week.

I will also have to dig more to be able to answer what JSON schema they use. Does it make sense to interpret them as 8-bit values, then combine them into 4 16-bit values?

 Sorry, I was a bit unclear in my question. How did you get the data from the Thingy? What API did you call, etc.?

As for how to convert the RGBC/RGBA (Red, Green, Blue, Clear/Alpha) values to RGB, you can take a look at this function from the Thingy Android app: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/Android-Nordic-Thingy/blob/cdf5612dce002e31fafedc0c07fa3b5b3091f62d/app/src/main/java/no/nordicsemi/android/nrfthingy/EnvironmentServiceFragment.java#L951

Have you tried to assemble the values into 4 16-bit values? I am not sure which endianness they are using, so you might have to try both to see if one makes sense.

I use this API

/devices​/{deviceIdentifier}

And I receive all raw data from the thingy52.
