PC no longer recognizing nRF52 DK (probably driver issue)

My windows 10 PC no longer recognizes the development kit as a USB device (which it did when I started), but when put it in bootloader mode the bootloader USB drive shows up

I have tried dragging the .bin file from here into the bootloader drive, but after its dragged into the drive the development kit immediately disconnects and starts blinking rapidly. It keeps blinking rapidly until I turn it off. I have tried using the other ports on my computer (all of them display the windows message "USB device not recognized"). I have tried uninstalling the device and rebooting my computer, I have tried turning the device on and off, and installing the command line tools again. All of them produce the same result.

The reason I think its a driver issue is because it connects and displays as a USB device on my laptop.

How can I get my computer to recognize it?

  • Hi,

Have you also tried to reinstall or install the newest J-Link Software and Documentation Pack from Segger?

Have you tried using e.g. nrfjprog or other tools from your laptop as well, in order to confirm that the board behaves correctly from there? I.e. confirmed that the issue is isolated to the Windows 10 PC in question, and not something wrong with the board?

I know that in the past there has been some USB issues with certain USB hubs, are you connecting the board directly to a USB port on your computer?

    Regards,
    Terje
