Recommended Direction Finding Chip

Hi All,

There are few chips that Nordic supports Direction Finding. 

nRF5340, 

nRF52833

nRF52820

nRF52811

Is it possible to know the recommended chip I should start with? It seems like nRF52811 is Nordic's first chip that supported direction finding.

It depends what you are going to use it for. For a tag that sends a packet with CTE, the nRF52811 will do fine. But you need more memory for the computations on the receiving end so you want to use the nRF52833 here.

Thanks for the reply. So can I use a mixer of both. Forexample, nRF52811 for a tag that sends CTE and in the receiving side I use nRF52833?

Also is nRF52833 is the most high end chip with the direction finding capability?

Yes, the nRF52833 is currently the device with most memory that supports direction finding. The nRF5340 can also do that but it's not in production yet so only use that if you can wait for some time.
