nRF9160 J-Flash RAMCode for programming external flash

I am about to follow the steps here https://wiki.segger.com/Open_Flashloader to be able to program an external flash. However if there is an easier method I would prefer to do that. I had hoped to use nrfjprog and the qspiini options to do this, but that of course is not an option. I am looking for the path of least resistance for this task. My questions:

Is there a method that does not require programming and generation the RAMCode file? Perhaps some beta code for qspiini working with the nRF9160? I would love to just set the pins and be done with it.

If the RAMCode file is the only method can someone share with me an emProject for the nRF9160 RAMCode generation so that I can cut some of the time out of this task?

Have you had any progress on this? The nRF9160 does not have any QSPI peripheral by the way.

I had to put this to the side for a moment. I will be picking it back up again soon. Am I correct in my understanding that the only way to accomplish this is to generate the RAMCode file per the instructions at https://wiki.segger.com/Open_Flashloader ?
