Missing MQTT message when network drop

Like to check on the usage of MQTT. We are connecting the nrf9160 to the network in eDRX. 

During the interval, we may lose some message due to the lost of connection, is there a way to monitor the status of the connection or be notify when there is a network detach.

Secondly, is there any mechanism other than polling to wake up the device on the arrival of a message?

Can you provide some information about your setup? What version of NCS are you working on, and what modem FW are you running?

Yes, we are trying to do so in eDRX. Using MFW 1.2.1

Is there any method to check if there was a network detach while in low power mode?

I think a modem trace is best at this moment. Please let it run for as long as you are seeing these issues.

Do you get any errors in your output? Is this you own application or is it one of our samples? What NCS version are you running?

Which MQTT server are you using and what is the QoS of the subscription? Have you verified that you do not run over the configured MQTT timeout of the  connection?
