Power nRF52840 dongle with diode

Hi,

Im currently wondering how I would power the nRF52 dongle with a 3.85 Liion battery the best way. Voltage range will be between 2.5v and 4.2v.

I read you can use VDDH, but I cannot find the VDDH pin on the dongle, Im not sure how I would do that, I also read that it will be difficult to program it, once I use VDDH.

my other Idea would be to just use a diode to drop the voltage by about 0.7v, that would get me below 3.8v for 99% of the time, and I could just use VDD.

which Idea is the better one?
