where is the saadc documentation? what driver should be used?

Hi All,

the sdk17 documentation has the sad adc included (sad because a 12-bit adc turns out to have 9 effective bits and then with +-3% error on top of all that effectively being a 5-bit converter!?!).

But which functions are to be used? I don't think legacy, the v2 driver links are empty and leads to 404 and the initialisation nrfx_saadc_init() is missing in the HAL link. Now what???

There seems to be an issue with the documentation link. I believe it intended to link to this file, or something similar: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/nrfx/blob/v1.8.4/drivers/include/nrfx_saadc_v2.h

Any of the driver APIs are fine to use in nRF5 SDK. The legacy layer (nrf_drv_saadc_*) is the using nrfx_saadc_v1 implementation between the legacy layer. This is the API used in the SAADC example in the SDK. You can post this example to nrfx_saadc_v1 driver by following the instructions in Migration guide for nrfx drivers, but this will not give you any new features or increased performance.

The nrfx_saadc_v2 driver API is a complete rewrite of the SAADC driver, to fix some known issues, and provide even more flexibility than the old driver. You can find a link to a few examples in the SDK 17.0.2 migration guide, and I also added a couple of similar examples to this GitHub repository.
