Accuracy of RSSI Viewer

I was wondering why the RSSI Viewer Values are locked to a minimum of -33 dBm. Is there any reason for that and is there a workaround to get lower values? Currently I am using a quite optimal setup for short distances and the -33/-34 dBm I get are not representative. With other RSSI measurements I get between -17 and -26 dBm, but the more useful values I get, the better. 

Btw.: Can anyone recommend any other RSSI measurement tools for evaluation?

I would expect around -20 dBm for my setup, and the RSSI Viewer is always locked to -33 dBm. I cannot get better/higher values than that.

Hmm, that was strange. It must be a limitation in the RSSI viewer then. The easiest is probably to just read the RSSISAMPLE register periodically and send the value over UART
