nrf52dk SPI master with BMI085 IMU slave

Hi ,

i am new to using SPI and i am currently undergoing my final year porject that consits of data analyisis for IMUs and i am uding the nrf52DK (which i never used before) and i had a look at the examples of the sdk but i am still unsure on how to comunicate with the device. would someone please help me just to at least have somehwere to start and where i can connect the sensor with the dev kit and get any type of reading and then i cant learn and play about with it as at the moment i cant get it to work.

Hi, 

There is a Getting Started guide available in the SDK documentation. If you want to use SPI, we have SPI examples available in the SDK, which can be used as a starting-point, but there are no sensor drivers for BMI085. You need to read the datasheet and find the correct commands to control the sensors. Some manufacturers provide sensor drivers that you can use with their sensors, but you typically need to write the interface to the serial peripheral yourself. 

Take a look at SPI Master Example (located in <InstallFolder>\examples\peripheral\spi) and SPI Slave Example (located in <InstallFolder>\examples\peripheral\spis) about how they interact.

I have read and attempted the examples but i am still stuck on the simple part such as getting the chip id from the accelerometer or the gyro. is there some way to get some more help please
