Setting Up DTM (Direct Test Mode) on nRF52810 based Taiyo Yuden module

My customer is using a Taiyo Yuden module, EYSLSNZWW, that uses the Nordic nRF52810 chipset.  We need to configure the board for Bluetooth Qualification testing.  I have read the Taiyo Yuden technical notes but its not particular clear on the hardware configuration steps and if special DTM firmware needs to be loaded on the nRF52.

Has anyone gone through the steps of configuring nRF52 for Qualification testing and if so are you happy to share information?

  • Thanks for your answer Ketiljo.

Seems like they have SWDIO and SWDCLK pins to enable the DTM firmware to be loaded.  Once they load the DTM FW it will remain as long as they don't flash again?

Regarding the UART connection to the Tester, they already have an MCU UART connection setup on their standard device, so I assume that if we check current FW to see Tx and Rx pin settings, we simply set the same in the DTM FW (and remove the physical connection to the MCU).  Then connect either via RS232 to TTL convertor or USB cable?
