Exit from debug interface mode without power cycling the chip

Hello,

regarding to another thread in this forum the debug interface mode can be turned off by sending the command "writeDP 1 0" via J-Link commander or by power cycling the chip.

Is there really no other way to get out of the debug interface mode, like for example a watchdog reset?

Due to the system architecture power cycling is not possible.

Hi,

The application can't exit debug mode, but the debugger can.

You can see the recommendations here(chapter 3 and 8):

1. To enter debug interface you request power in DP.CTRL/STAT register (DP = Debug Port)

2. When you exit you should clear those bits

This can only be done through the SWD (debugger), not from the CPU (application).
