As I understand it, Apple is working on a new product called Airtags. This will be similar to the Tile for finding items like your keys or wallet. The catch is that Apple is opening up a new iOS core feature to support select third-party developers. In theory, an approved Bluetooth device can connect to any iOS iPhone or iPad and report data up through Apple. You wouldn't need the end-user to have an App installed on their iPhone or iPad. This could have big implications. I'm trying to collect more information and I was hoping that someone here would know more and could comment.
