nRF5 DK and Dongles erased by themselves.

Hi,

I have a very strange issue on my nRF5 development kits and dongles. Whenever I load the softdevice and firmware to the DKs or dongles. After sometime, the USB connection to PC resets for some reason and I could see the auto play dialog box again. The real annoying thing is that the DK or dongle gets completely erased after this. I have to load the firmware again. And within 2 to 5 minutes same thing happens and i keep going on programming the softdevice as well as application again and again. This does not happen when I use my segger J link programmer to program other custom boards with nRF5 chips..

Please let me know if someone have any idea about whats actually happening.

How do you confirm that ?

I have not confirmed if its totally erased or not. But what i am sure about is that it does not work if i upload either the softdevice or the application. It only works when i upload both files again.

You can check the flash content using e.g. nRF Connect for Desktop, and the programmer app.

Is this issue something you are seeing with several kits? Could you test with a different USB cable, USB hub, power it from a different computer, etc ?

Hi Please check this screenshot. This is what it shows after device is reconnected. I programmed the DK with softdevice. Then i left it connected to PC. After some time the DK is reconnected by itself and auto play option appears again (the PC makes sound to show a new device connected). Then when i refresh the programmer in nRF connect and read. It shows empty devices. FYI, I read the DK after programming softdevice to see if it is programmed successfully or not. And it always a success.

That is very strange. Could you save the file, and upload it here?

1) Do you see this issue multiple computers?

2) You have reproduced this on 1 DK and 1 dongle ?

3) What version of the DK is this? The version should be printed on a white sticker, below "PCA10040".
