Converting examples to nrf51822

Hi I am struggling to change the device type on examples setup for nrf51422 to nrf51822. If I change the setting in "options for target"/device I get the failure message: Error: Flash Download failed - "Cortex-M0"

Even though I have done a full erase (in studio) and reprogrammed the soft device.

I am specifically using the ble_app_uart and s110 softdevice, both from SDK 8.0.0

Do I need to change the device, it seems to work OK as nrf51422 on my nrf51822FAB hardware?

Hi. No, it should not be necessary to change the device type. All our bluetooth examples are compatible with both nRF51822 and nRF51422. So try to run the example "as is" and see if that helps. The only difference between the chips is that the nRF51422 has ANT capabilities in addition to BLE.

It seems that you device is using the 128KB version. All the examples are based on the 256KB version. You may need to adjust the Flash size to see if it fits.

everytime i get that error, i do "nrfjprog -e" on command line and first program the softdevice and app, it mostly helps. If it doesn't like Hoan said your flash sizes aren't right in settings and the Keil is trying to overwrite the softdevice when you try to flash the application. There are safe guards in the flash algorithm that nordic provided for Keil that will not allow it.

Thank you Nguyen, Martin and Aryan You have pointed me in the right direction, it seems when I "select device for target" the memory size is correctly changed from 256K to 128K but the start address field is changed from 0x18000 to 0x0, changing this back to 0x18000 allows the software download to proceed correctly.

I have a same problem. Would you please share a screenshoot of your target settings? Which valuse did you changed? IROM1?
