Problems with SIM Card, can not connect a device to my account

The SIM "893..." is already linked to your account. Then i skip this step and trying to add the LTE to my account. But always this error: "There was an error adding your device: The ownership code is invalid for this device. Troubleshoot nRF Code 40102"

What now ?

does the nRF9160 need to be online or does it needs a LTE or GPS connection etc. while i try to add the SIM card/ LTE Device to my account?

I dont have the GPS antenna, is it requiered for LTE-M connections ?

  • Hi,

No, GPS and LTE are two completely different and unrelated technologies.

does the nRF9160 need to be online or does it needs a LTE or GPS connection etc. while i try to add the SIM card/ LTE Device to my account?

The device must be online, and connected to nRF Cloud.

What device are you trying to add to your nRF Cloud account?

On a nRF91DK, LED 3 and 4  should be blinking when it is ready, on a Thingy:91, the LED should "breathe" yellow.

In both cases, if you connect the device to a computer, and open a serial terminal, the log from the device should say something similar to "Waiting for cloud association"

What device are you trying to add to your account? A DK, Thingy, or a custom one? What does the log say?

    Best regards,

    Didrik
