Use of St link for power profiler

I have a ST link V2 with swd interface support. For one of our existing projects ( custom board ), we want to examine the current consumption of BMD-350 ( NRF52832 ). Hence I will be ordering the Nordic power profiler kit soon. Just wanted to know if my st link debugger will work with the power profiler kit for connection to my laptop or do I really need to purchase a Segger J-link?

Hi Soumyanit95, the original ST link only support STM8 and STM32 devices. You can convert it to support other ARM devices with some third part firmware according to the discussion on this page, but this is another topic. Since your development is based on nRF52 devices, you'd better buy a J-link directly or get one nRF52 DK board which have an On-board SEGGER J-Link debugger/programmer.
