Problem about friend node

I'm having a bit of a problem with using friend nodes in mesh networks. I have connected a friend for 2 nodes:

1, But I do not understand the real mechanism of the packet sent to the friend node and saved like?

2, How can I make sure the packet has been sent from LPN to the friend node?

3, If possible, can you give me some examples of sources?
