SD130 production release notes

Hello,

why did you chose to remove the S130 1.0.0.3-alpha from the relasenotes and merge it with the latest version? I don't think that's the way it works. Now we have to compare two versions of the releasenotes to figure out what has changed. Were there not enough changes for the production ready version?

  • Hi, Marius!

There are two ways of doing this. One is to keep the release notes for each and every release separate. This has the advantage that all steps (versions) leading up to the final version are visible.

The other approach is to merge the release notes for the alphas leading up to a production release into the final release notes for the production version. This has the advantage that those coming from older versions do not have to read several sets of changes, but get only the relevant changes, in one set.

We have tried both approaches, and have found that the latter approach was the most user friendly. So that is what we have been doing for a while now. In this case, we merged the late alpha with the production.

Am I correct in assuming that you would have preferred having each version separate? Is so, that is something we will take into consideration in the future.

    With kind regards Asbjørn Sæbø
