Updating Thingy91 Modem Firmware: Erasing image failed

Hi,

I'm getting an error while trying to update the modem firmware (mfwnrf9160121.zip) on my thingy91.

I'm using nrfConnect Desktop on Windows 10, I activate DFU mode, but after about 10-15 seconds, this error comes up:

The LTE monitor connects to COM port, but modem indicator shows as 'Power Off' and AT commands time out.

Could you verify that you do all the steps mentioned in the documentation?
That it is in MCUboot etc.

Hi, yes I followed these instructions. I'm reasonably certain that it is in MCU boot because the RGB LED does not flash (as it does with a regular power on). Also, after this error is displayed, the board appears to revert back to regular operation (i.e. LED begins usual flashing sequence).

Just an update on this. I was actually trying to do this via a VirtualBox VM (Windows 10 guest).

I had an old Windows 10 laptop, and installed nrfConnect + Programmer, and firmware update works fine.

Reason I was using VM was because I couldn't get nrfConnect Programmer to work via Ubuntu.

Anyway, for now all is good as I have updated modem firmware. Now to see if I can get it online.
