Question about Nordic Thingy 52

Hi--I'm part of a research group that will be using the Thingy 52 to record environmental variables, and we will need to transfer information to a cloud server using a satellite terminal. We are in the process of choosing the terminal that is sufficient for our data transfer needs, so we had two questions: What is the packet size that the Thingy 52 uses to transfer information (e.g., 5-10kb)? What is the average file size that is gathered over, say, a 24 hour period of continuous recording? We have to decide on the terminal by tomorrow, so any immediate help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated

  • Hi,

What is the packet size that the Thingy 52 uses to transfer information (e.g., 5-10kb)?

Are you transferring the data from the Thingy:52 over BLE, or some other communication transport?

What is the average file size that is gathered over, say, a 24 hour period of continuous recording?

Do you mean from all the sensors on the Thingy:52 enabled at once? The sensor intervals are configurable, so this will depend on the configuration.

    Best regards,
    Jørgen
