Measure current with Arduino mounted

Hi,

On my nRF52840 DK PCA10056 Arduino connector I have mounted some external ST board.

With ST through Arduino interface I am communicating something with nRF52840.

In this scenario I wanted to measure current. How can I achieve it?

Hi,

If you have a PPK then you can configure it this way If you don't have a PPK then I guess you can use a shunt resistor.

In this setup as per the link above, external DUT is like on top of DK there is ST board with its own power source via mini USB cable. In this case even without I switch power on switch to ON nRF52840 is powered via Arduino. So with what configurations DK should be kept to measure chip current...

 I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you mean. Is the DK supplied by the USB connected to the shield?

It's clear that you have some kind of shield that is attached ontop of the DK. But I'm still not sure if you want to measure the current consumption of only the shield, the shield + the DK or only the DK. And what measurement tools do you have available? A power profiler kit? A multimeter? An oscilloscope?

We suggest different methods on measuring the current depending on what exactly that you want to measure and how.
