Flashing the nRF51822-BEACON

Hello,

I'm using the following (nRF51822-Beacon): www.nordicsemi.com/.../nRF51822-Bluetooth-Smart-Beacon-Kit

I would like to use the beacon for beacon-to-becaon and beacon-to-smartphone communication via Bluetooth.

What is the easiest option in terms of programmers/debuggers to flash the nRF51822-becaon?

And what is the cheapest option?

Thanks.

  • Use the Segger J-link or J-trace or the one that came with one of the older Nordic Kits and get a cable from Tag Connect (I believe it is a 6-pin connector).

    Worked for me.

PS. Cheapest option is to get a friend do it for you and get DFU firmware on it. Else, the Nordic kit with the segger (still available at Mouser) and the Tag connect option is the cheapest. Still will be about $100 US or so but is reusable.
