DFU update for nrf51422 multirole lesc

Hi,

I am using sdk11 and nrf51422 device with s130 softdevice for ble_multilink_lesc example code. How do I add DFU service in the existing code? I have added DFU service for other peripheral examples. But here when I follow the same procedure, the device is not at all advertising(not seen in nrf connect mobile app).

Hi,

If it is not advertising, there is most likely an error reported, causing the device to reset. Have you tried following this debug-procedure to read out the error code, or see where the application crashes?

Yes I have tried this. Its getting stopped in the while loop and I have put a watch on the m_error_data structure which shows the error files as-> \\nrf51422_xxaa_s130\../../../../../../../components/libraries/util/app_error.c\app_error_save_and_stop\m_error_data.p_file_name.

Can you share an example code of multirole(central and peripheral) with dfu enabled?

I believe that is the file you are currently in, not the file where the error occurred. What is the value of err_code and line_num in the m_error_data struct?

I do not have any examples of this available. If you can upload your application project, I can help you debug it.

The error originates from the APP_ERROR_CHECK in dfu_app_dm_appl_instance_set in dfu_app_handler.c:191. I got a warning while compiling the application about device_manager_init being defined but not called. When I commented in the calling of this function, I do not get any error when running your application.

Thanks for the suggestion. But were you able to update the zip file after making the changes in your code?

I did the same thing like you have suggested and the application was running but I couldn't flash the new firmware through DFU.

If you comment  the APP_ERROR_CHECK you might be able to make it advertise and scan, but the DFU functionality will get effected and it may not work.
