Input a data into the CLI

Hi, 

      I would like to input a data(integer) into the CLI and store the data. How can I do that. I have seen SDK but could not find any function or macro. 

If there is any functon where do I need to place it? Do I have to place it in demo_cli_cmds.c or main.c ?

For example how we have in C language a scanf to store the data, I am looking for some thing similar in cli
