nRF51822 QDIDs for Nordic Host and Profile subsystems

I am new to BT certification so my following question may be incorrectly stated.

We are creating a new OEM BLE module using the nRF51882-CFAC. We intend to sell this module to a customer who will integrate this device into their end-application. This customer will presumably be in charge of the end-product listing for the module.

Based on advice we've heard, it is my understanding that we need to obtain a Controller Subsystem QDID for our hardware implementation. Our customer will use our QDID along with Nordic's Host Subsystem and Profile Subsystem QDIDs in order to obtain their end-product listing.

Using that description as my guide, I am looking for the appropriate Host subsystem and Profile subsystem QDIDs. I found the "Series Compatibility Matrix v1.1" but that has only confused me.

I would greatly appreciate any help pointing me to the correct numbers. Also, if the certification model I've spelled out above is incorrect, any guidance and/or correction would be welcomed.

  • It is not necessary to obtain a controller Subsystem QDID for your hardware. You can simply retest RF-PHY and combine this with our Qualified design (in some cases the you might want to reference the components that is part of the qualified design). Note that if you look at the qualified designs mention in the compatibility matrix on the Bluetooth sig 'end product listing' you can see the components it is referencing on the top of the ICS page.
