data storage with CLI/command line interface

Hi, 

   I would like to know how can I implement the following i.e., 
1. I want to print a line in cli for example,"Input a number" 

2. Then i want to store this number and print it back on the cli. 

I could able to print any information on CLI using the infocenter commands published but I couldnt crack the point 2 how can i do that and what are the functions/macros I need to use. 

Could some one answer these doubts

Hello Ashok,

Do you intend to store the data in flash or in RAM? Do you need the data to be stored across resets (power off -> power on)? If so, you need to store the data in flash. I suggest you take a look at the example flash_fstorage or flash_fds.
