data transfer in ipv6 layer

i made a mesh network using cli ftd uart example and transfer data using udp portal

there comes a need for me to indicate reset command through switch and send reset command for udp client to udp server , i prefer to send  data in ipv6 layer , but since i am amateur i am looking for guidance (api commands to be used in existing project)
