Nordic nRF9160-SICA-R RX mode test query

Hi,

I am testing RX mode.

And the module is sure to enable M1 (%XSYSTEMMODE: 1,0,0,0)

I use the following command, but return error.

AT%XRFTEST=1,1,2,19500,17,1,0,6,0,0,0,0,0(LTE TX at 1950MHz ( Band 2 , 17dBm ). 

Which part do I need to modify?

Hi Sheng,

 

You get an error because the command tries to initate TX in the downlink band, try a frequency within 1850 – 1910 MHz instead or use the RX command for 1950MHz:

%XRFTEST=0,1,2,19500,-65,1

Sorry, this is my mistake.

I can succeed in RX mode, The command of Tx mode will return error.

AT%XRFTEST=1,1,2,19500,17,1,0,6,0,0,0,0,0

return : error

Hi Sheng,

 

OK I understand. As I mentioned though, you can not initiate TX in the downlink portion of the band, this is the frequency band where the base station transmits to the nRF9160. You need to change the 19500 parameter to a value between 18500 and 19100.

Hi Andreas,

I used the following command, the module can work.

But the dBm of RX is too small, any suggestions?

TX : AT%XRFTEST=1,1,25,19100,-25,1,0,6,0,0,0,0,0

return: %XRFTEST: -326 (-326/16 = -20 dBm)

RX : AT%XRFTEST=0,1,25,19500,-25,1

return:%XRFTEST: -19386  (-19386/256 = -75 dBm)

Hi Sheng,

 

When you enter -25dBm in 

AT%XRFTEST=0,1,25,19500,-25,1

this indicates the expected RX input power. -75dBm from 

%XRFTEST: -19386

indicates the actual measured RX input power.
