  • Hi  Davud,

There are mainly two types of antennas used for our nPF products, PCB antennas and chip antennas. There are other types of antennas as well so pleas clarify if you want more info on other options.

    PCB antennas:
We have a white paper that explains the λ/4 monopole antenna for 2.4GHz. You can also find information on PCB antennas here and here. You can also look at our HW reference design for the dongle and DK to see examples circuit and layouts that we use.

    Chip antenna:
They come in many different versions with different specifications and use cases, usually on small formfactor the chip antenna are used to reduce size. You can look at the Thingy HW files to see an example. The same goes for the nrf9160DK but there are two different setts of antennas there one set for the nrf9160 chip and one for the nrf52. The nrf52 part uses a 2.4GHz antenna.

    Regards,
    Jonathan
