How to connect custom board to "The Sentrius MG100 Gateway" (nRF52840)

I have The Sentrius MG100 Gateway (nRF52840) and custom Beacon (BLE). I need to quickly connect the Beacon to the Gateway for testing. I was looking for example codes but I can't find anything for a few hours and I really need communication between the Beacon (a board with a temperature sensor that will be sent to the gateway via BLE) and the Gateway. MG100 Gateway (nRF52840) doesnt want to connect to my board - it does not connect to devices other than their specific Laird products. Anyone can help?
I appreciate any advice! :)

  • Hello,

I have The Sentrius MG100 Gateway

Let me preface by saying that I have not personally worked with this module, and since it is not a product we support my knowledge of it is very limited. Does it come with pre-programmed firmware that you may not configure in any way? Does the user-manual contain any instructions on how to make it connect to different devices?

it does not connect to devices other than their specific Laird products. Anyone can help?

Is the gateway made to only work with their products, or is it a general purpose one that may be configured to accept other connections?
This might be something you need to ask Laird' support about directly.
Does it only connect to Laird, or are you able to connect it to other devices, just not your custom Beacon?

    custom Beacon (BLE)

Could you confirm for me that the beacon is advertising as connectable?
Could you also tell me more about this device, is this an nRF based beacon?

    Best regards,
    Karl

  • Actually, I already know that it cannot be done as fast as I wanted - I have to write the entire firmware. I just did not know such products before and I was told to start it as quickly as possible :) Thanks for the answer, you are not able to help me because after all, this is not your area of work

  • Hi Derds, did you have any luck with getting this to work?

I have a very similar application in mind.
