regarding about the connection RSSI for signal strength

Hi Nordic,

I am trying to build something based on your BLE uart example for the two units for the connection from your SDK 17.0.2

one unit is running the BLE UART central role

the other unit is running with the BLE UART  peripheral role. 

But do you know how to get the signal strength from the each other based on the connection and disconnected mode. could you please give some example for that, please?

Hi,

When scanning, you can always get the RSSI as metadata in the advertising report. In most SDK examples that would be obtained by something like p_ble_evt->evt.gap_evt.params.adv_report.rssi when handling the BLE_GAP_EVT_ADV_REPORT.

For a connection, you can start obtaining RSSI data by calling sd_ble_gap_rssi_start(), and subsequently sd_ble_gap_rssi_get(). See API doc.
