can You explain

 light_lc_client_light_onoff_set(&m_clients[0], &set_params,&transition_params);

This command in the lc client used to make the immediate on the server or with state transitions(fade on,standby etc..)

if that s for immediate on which i need to use to see the state transitions

That function will set the light ON or OFF. You can adjust the transition time by setting this value>0: transition_params.transition_time_ms = 0;

I suggest you read through this example for a more detailed explanation regarding the LC example. Under Interacting with the boards you can see what happens through the different states and how you can adjust the transition times.
