create_nordic_project.py failed(1). error: aborting due to Kconfig warnings

Hello, I am currently trying to build the lwm2m_client sample on my nrf9160DK but I am facing these issues in my Kconfig file, specifically with the BSD_LIBRARY dependency. I am able to build the blinky sample just fine but when it comes to lwm2m_client, it doesn't work. I am guessing that there's something wrong with my configuration but can't really pinpoint what it is. I am new to this devkit with this sample so would appreciate some help and guidance.

Hi,

Have you remembered to choose the non-secure build target of the nRF9160 DK, that is "nrf9160dk_nrf9160ns"? When building samples in the non-secure domain, you must remember to add "ns" at the end, to build it as non-secure.

Have you installed the SDK and toolchain through the toolchain manager or manually?

Yes I tried that one but that gives me a different error:

I have installed the SDK using the toolchain. Why would it work to build the "blinky" sample but not this one? Is it due to board configurations?

Hi Joel,

What do you mean by "installed the SDK using the toolchain"? From your error it seems like you're missing some of the Python dependencies, so from that and from looking at the path of your SDK, I assume that you didn't install the SDK through the toolchain manager, as described here.

Did you follow the guide for installing the nRF Connect SDK manually when you installed it? The relevant part about installing the Python dependencies can be found here. In order to install them, you have to enter the following commands in your ncs folder:

pip3 install -r zephyr/scripts/requirements.txt
pip3 install -r nrf/scripts/requirements.txt
pip3 install -r bootloader/mcuboot/scripts/requirements.txt

Sorry I meant to write I have installed the SDK and toolchain through the toolchain manager. I did that above step and I verified every step on the way and it said I had no issues. I am using a Mac btw. I installed those dependecies as well but maybe there's something I am missing. These are my configurations:

Hi,

It's possible that it's a path problem. Could you try to open a terminal, run python, and then try to import the libraries west has problems with (those from your last error log)?

You said that you verified every step on the way when you installed the SDK and toolchain. Are you certain you used the Toolchain Manager and not the Getting Started Assistant? With the Toolchain Manager, everything is installed with the click of a button, as shown below.

The Toolchain Manager is experimental on macOS, but it should still work. Please remember that if you have installed the SDK and toolchain with the Toolchain Manager, you should open SES with the "Open IDE" button in the Toolchain Manager
