eSIM recommendation for North America

Hi,

We currently have a regular SIM, and it works well except for the inability have very low power draw when the device is in low power states. Based on our testing, we found that the bulk of the current draw is coming from the SIM. It is our understanding that some SIM cards are able to sleep but some are not. Do you have any recommendations on the kind of SIM card to use to support low power sleep?

Can the low power in uA range for nRF9160 be achieved using regular SIM cards?

Do we necessarily need to use eSIM to achieve low current in the uA range? Do you have any recommendations on eSIM to use in a product based on nRF9160?

We are looking to be compatible with most major carries in North America.

Thanks

Nalini
