FANSTEL BT840 module (using nRF52840 SoC) immunity issue

Hello,

we are currently testing our new product, which integrate the FANSTEL BT840 module (using nRF52840 SoC)

The immunity is tested with our product communicating with a Nordic PCA10059 Dongle, using Thread protocol.

This dongle is placed outside the main perturbating field.

During the EN 60730-1/-2-14 immunity test (3V/m over 1GHz), we have seen that at approximately 2,715GHz the communication is broken (no problem under and over, recovery is automatic).

According to documentation, BT840 should be OK at 3V/m.

Can you advise us ?

It's Fanstel's product - you need to go to Fanstel for help/support with their product.

It depends a bit on the fail/pass conditions you set. You will experience packet loss when the field is applied, no way around that, but if the connection parameters aren't too strict, you shouldn't loose the link.
