NRF9160 Strange Hardware Revision

Hi,

I have two variants of the nrf9160 SIP one being the nRF9160 SICA B0A and the other being the nRF9160 SICA B1A.

When I use the AT%HWVERSION AT command on the B0 version it behaves as expected and returns nRF9160 SICA B0A. However when I use that command for the B1 version it returns  nRF9160 SICA BQA.

Why is this? Is this a bug?

Kind regards,

Thomas

  • GEN1 of the SiP should return "B0A" and GEN2 of the SiP should return "B1A". However, some GEN2 devices are, as you are experiencing, incorrectly returning "BQA". This is due to an production programming error that is now fixed. SiPs delivered after Sep'20 should contain the correct HW revision information.

Please let us know if the reporting of wrong version is blocking anything as your project is moving forward.
