Does a Flash Data Storage utility to dump all FDS files to host operating system files exist?

Has anyone written a utility to dump the tables of contents (i.e. directory of files) and

an entire file with record keys:contents to a host operating system file to a file so it can be examined / searched with *nix utilities?

Something like nrfjprog --readcode file ??

Does anyone have any thoughts / ideas / suggestions in this area?

There is a different record/files concept in the FDS as shown here. but there is no utility that i know that dumpts the record layout to the host operating system. What do you want to do with these layouts?

 I have events that are being written to an FSD file and later broadcast. There is a problem somewhere in the collection, storage, transmission or reception. I need to see the files to see what the data stored is correct.

I do not think you can look into the filesystem in itself, but when you are writing something, you can print the FileID and Record_Key value and do the same when you want to retrieve it. The value and length should remain the same. I do not think it helps you much to debug directly into the whole page of flash where the contents are written. This is now well-tested module, so it is very unlikely that the basic functionality like write and retrieve data has any bugs.

Saying that,

You can then read the entire page using nrfjprog but that will include a lot of init headers for FDS that are not part of your saved data. Still if you want to have a look into the page, It won't be easy to debug this raw data in the page

Susheel Nuguru I did not mean to imply there was a problem with the FDS.

I have written raw block to file/record utilities for disk systems in the past and they turned out to be very useful. I guess I'll be writing one for FDS.
