How to measure radio radiation strength with a spectrum analizer

Hi,  I want to evaluate my anttena design.  I have tuned it.
With the dongle I can scan the air for radio signals,  I see then my Wifi  and I see the BLE radio of my board.
Now I run the beacon test from the SDK  examples.  What i get is that de sniffer shows the radio spikes some times.  Of Course, the beacon sends in intervals.
So the sniffer  receiver some times has a hit to measure the beacon signal.
I can also use my spectrum analyzer, but this is not so fine as well.  The chance that the sweep measures the beacon is very small.  as result I can not do  signal strength
measurements with the analizer.

But is there a way to turn on the nRF 52840  Radio continualy, without making a connection (Bond, pairing))
Then the signal is much better to catch and to see.
maybe the channels is also selectable?  then the high Q of the antenna can be measured, i hope...

Hi,  this works perfect.   At first I did not get it to work, but now it  does.
With the RSSI tool and a dongle:  realy nice.
Nordic had good tools!

I increased the dongle RSSI  measuring performance.
With a yagi-pcb  antenna.  easy to order on different sites.
this pcb antenna can be glued to tthe dongle, al small antenna wire patch and it works fine.
With the yagi the radiation direction can be split better...
