Discovery of PSM availability/parameters

Hi,

I'm trying to understand the PSM availability of my local network.

After playing a bit with the RAT and RPTAU values, I found out that using RAT=16~30 secs and RPTAU=~240 secs values the network allows me to use PSM mode. However, it is not at all reliable and only seems to work during specific hours of the day. This makes testing really difficult.

I understand that PSM availability depends on network provider and mast congestion.

Is there any tools or modem command to interrogate/test the network to know if (and with which RAT/RPTAU values) PSM is currently available?

Hi,

Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible for the device to discover what values are allowed, other than trying them all.

However, if you ask the network operator, they should be able tell you what rules they are using.
